Red Wine Page 1

Our wine list is created with the Rousseau House culinary philosophy in mind - that food and wine are intended not only to complement each other, but to inspire one another, making the selection and interplay of the wine and food an integral part of the dining experience. We do have a selection of over 200 bottles of wine on our list, ranging from $15 and up.

Each section of our wine list is introduced by a short description of the general characteristics of the wines it contains. We do not attempt to describe the flavors of each wine, but rather give you a reference point with which to orient yourself. Nor do we offer specific selections matched to particular dishes. We believe that food and wine can inspire each other. Here, there are no rules. We believe that the "correct" pairing of a dish with a wine is in large measure determined by the unique tastes of the individual diner.

We challenge ourselves and our guests by offering the classics: Red and White Burgundies, Cabernets from California, bold Barolos from Italy, and the unexpected: wines from Portugal, Pinot Noir from New Zealand and other wines from less familiar producers and regions.
We encourage you to discover them with us.

We do not shy away, however, from suggesting which wines to try, but would rather do it on a personal basis, with your special requirements in mind. To this end each and every waiter is trained to offer advice. Of course a sommelier is available if more detailed information is desired.
